My little man got a big kick out of easter this year. He is old enough now to understand the concept of easter baskets and egg hunting, and he loved every minute of it. It was really fun seeing the excitement in his eyes upon finding each egg, or when he first laid eyes upon his easter basket, or rather bucket in this case. Immediately everything came out and got inspected with glee. His excitement got cut a little short when he found out I was going to ration out the candy rather than let him eat it all in one sitting, but that was a minor impact to a great day. My daughter is a little young still to really understand what was going on, I would guess that she would rank eating the chocolate above the egg hunt, but I suspect next year she will be all over those eggs.
Since I started taking these daily project365 photos, my 3 year old son has become very interested in helping. I let him put his eye up to the Nikon and take a few pictures. He selected the subject and the framing, I only helped him hold it, and helped him reach the shutter button. So while technically, this is not my photo, I’m going to use it in honor of my son. This was taken with a Nikon D80, a 60mm macro lens, and an on camera speedlight bounced off the wall, camera right.
