The kids love going on bike rides, as evident by their huge smiles, not only because it’s fun and refreshing but presumably because the usual destination lately has been a local playground where they can run and frolic and slide and swing to their heart’s content. I do have a confession to make about this picture however, I hang my head low in shame while revealing this fact, don’t beat me up too much, it was certainly an unanticipated accident. As you can see, the kick stand is firmly planted, and as I let go of the bars and slowly crept backwards, indicating to them that I was going to take a quick picture, everything appeared stable. Of course my mistake was telling them to say “cheese and crackers”, which of course in toddler speak meant “please shake and dance and laugh, and don’t forget the large head movements and hand swinging”. Mere moments after snapping the pic, as I rushed back to grab the bike, it slowly toppled, like a large evergreen just beginning it’s long haul off to the paper factory. I subliminally heard the classic lumberjack growl “t i i i i m m m m b e r r r r” floating through the air as the bike began to lean over and continued it’s slow motion fall to the ground. Needless to say, I felt horrible, as the kids immediately bellowed out moans of fright and surprise. Besides my bruised ego, and damaged pride, nobody was hurt. You will note that their helmets are firmly fastened, we practice safety first in our household! So perhaps I can just pass this off as a safety test procedure… This photo was brought to you by my tender little droid x.
